This is a very compact new introduction about half the height of older variety and it also starts to flower sooner. Produces masses of deep, rose-red flowers on short spikes from May to August. Stems and buds are dark red. Excellent cut flower. Loved by bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Prefers average to moist, well-drained soils in full sun. Good drainage is essential to overwinter successfully. Tolerates heat, humidity and some drought. Prune hard in late spring to encourage a bushy, compact growth. Remove spent flowers to improve overall appearance but it is not necessary for extending bloomtime. A Royal Horticulture Society Perfect for Pollinators selection.
