The Scent First® series of Border Pinks recently arrived from England and are known for their spicy fragrance, compact habit and long season of bloom. This selection forms a low cushion of grassy, grey-blue foliage topped with double flowers featuring frilly, deep coral petals with white picotee edge. Attractive to butterflies. Evergreen. The flower petals of all types of Dianthus are edible. Easily grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun. Prefers fertile, slightly alkaline, loose, somewhat gritty loams with good drainage. Add lime to acidic soils to adjust the soil pH.
